The Truth About Rapidshare Premium Accounts

Visit any blog that talks about Rapidshare and you find hundreds of links claiming to provide free Rapidshare Premium passwords. Most of these links lead you to a file that you have to download from Rapidshare. In the file, you find a list of 'Rapidshare Premium' usernames and passwords. When you try to log in with these accounts, none of them actually work.

Where do so many 'premium' passwords come from in the first place? Here's the secret. They are all fake and users upload them to earn points! When you upload a file to the Rapidshare website, you are asked if you would like to create a free account. Once you create your free account, your file is given its own download link. When other people use this link to download your file, your account gets credited with points (1 point for every download). Once you reach 1000 points, your account gets upgraded to a premium account for one month! So, you have your own free premium account for one month if you fool 1000 people into downloading fake passwords or whatever! This is just a marketing strategy from Rapidshare and I've never seen a soul getting 1000 download points. Hence do not fall prey to all those fake passwords.

Check For Free Rapidshare Premium Accounts Using RapidCheck

RapidCheck is a tool that checks whether any free accounts are available at Rapidshare.de. It stays at the system tray area and checks for free acounts at specified intervals. When free acounts are detected, you will be notified by the program with an information balloon tooltip. You can then directly go to the free account registration page by clicking the tooltip.

Hack Rapidshare Download Limit And Wait Time

Rapidshare sets a download limit for free non-premium users. Once you exceed this limit, you'll have to wait for a certain time before you can download another file. Rapidshare tracks your IP address and places these limitations on it. You can get around this by showing the rapidshare servers a different IP address. There are several methods for doing this:

1. Request new IP address from your ISP:

-Click Start (in Windows)
-Click Run
-Type cmd.exe in the run box and click OK
-In the command prompt type the following:

ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
exit

-Now, erase cookies and restart download

This technique works only for dynamic IP addresses (most users). For static
IP addresses, use one of the other techniques.

2. JavaScript hack:

-In the download page, select FREE
-Type the following into the address bar: javascript:alert(c=0)
-Click OK
-Click OK on the pop-up
-Enter the captcha code and start download

3. Firefox and SwitchProxy hack:

- Download and install Firefox (if not using it already)
- Download and install SwitchProxy
-Search Google for free proxy servers and use one in SwitchProxy
-When you reach download limit, change the proxy server in SwitchProxy.

Installation
For the second year in a row, Norton's former sluggish beast now offers a smooth and fast installation operation. Once you run the installer, the program is ready to operate in about a minute--impressively fast, and doubly so considering past performance. The installation process is also the first time that you will interact with Quorum, Norton's behavior-based detection engine. You'll be asked to participate by sending anonymous data to Symantec's cloud. Opting out of the data submission, according to Symantec, will not affect your security.
Running the trial of Norton also requires registering the program. Like many programs, Norton used to force open your default browser and take you to the company's registration Web site. One of the new features in Norton AntiVirus 2011 is that the program comes with a Web interface for your desktop. Users first encounter this when registering, but it pops up in regular program usage as well, keeping users from being forced to open their browsers to manage certain Web-based features. Uninstalling the software left about 10 Registry entries behind, but no other traces were detectable. Overall, Norton's installation experience was fast and hassle-free, with a minimum of configuration options--but the ones that did come up appeared necessary.
